You have to go to NOMOUNT before you restore SPFILE from a backup piece. We don't copy SPFILE from the source database, because the backup set already has everything we need. Which means, I will start from SPFILE restoration, then CONTROLFILE and rests. So we need to restore the whole database from the ground up.
